PRESENTATION OF THE GALLERY
The Storage gallery, situated in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône, close outskirts of Paris was inaugurated in 2010. At the time, this atypical and innovating project of opening a gallery just outside Paris inspired internationally renowned gallerists.
The choice of implementing The Storage galley in Saint-Ouen-l’Aumône is definitely not a coincidence. Located near Auvers-sur-Oise, a pole of attraction which attracted in the latter stages of the XIX century, famous painters, such as Vincent Van Gogh. Thus, The Storage gallery contributes in forming this genuine cultural set mixing modern art to contemporary art.
Although the majority of galleries focus essentially on the center of Paris, The Storage gallery profits from the numerous significant advantages by settling in the suburbs of Paris. Built in an industrial building supported by steel beams, the gallery offers more than 3000m2 of space, with its big open spaces and its high ceilings intended to shelter enormous art works. It also includes a garden combining nature, architecture and sculptures surrounded by palm trees and rhododendrons as well as slate arches overlooking a pond, place of leisure for Japanese carps. Thus, the Storage is a modern and spacious area, museum like due to its size and atmosphere.
Long considered as a gallery exclusively dedicated to the French contemporary artist Philippe Pasqua, recognized as one of the major artists of his generation, The Storage will shortly develop into a multi-artist gallery, where Pasqua’s art works will coexist with ones of established artists. This will create a certain dialogue between the art works.
